When
attempting to open or register QuickBooks Point of Sale, you see the following error:
Error code176109: Invalid Product Number QuickBooks or Invalid Product Code.
Reasons:
Damaged
files in the Point of Sale Entitlement folder.
An incorrect
product code has been used to install POS.
Login used
on Windows does not have administrator rights.
Resolution:
Solution 1: Delete the contents of
the entitlement client folder
1. Navigate to: C:\Program
Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8.
2. Select all the files in the folder and
then delete.
3. Relaunch QuickBooks Point of Sale for
Desktop and re-register the application. If the error persists, try solution 2.
If the issue
is not resolved, call 1.844.620.4696 to verify the correct validation
code is being used.
Solution 2: Rename the WSActivity
file
1. Navigate to: C:\Program
Data\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\Ini
2. Choose WSActivity and Rename.
3. Close the window then follow Solution 1
again.
4. Relaunch QuickBooks Point of Sale for
Desktop.
Solution 3: Perform a clean
re-install for Point of Sale
